 Thinking of
starting a business in the District of Columbia?
Whether
you want to start a business in traditional office space or
run a business from home, you need to submit the right forms
to meet District requirements.

kind of business you want to form. You will find
out:
1)
if you need to apply for a Basic Business License (BBL), and
2) what forms you need to complete.
Once
you download and complete the forms, mail them to the
Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) or take
them to DCRA's Business License Center at 941 North Capitol
Street NE. If you mail the forms, DCRA should contact you
within 45 days.
